About the project
Getting underway
As well as the much more fun and interesting task of reviewing CDs I’ve just bought, and concerts I’ve just been to, I am also working against a backload of over five hundred recordings. This does sound a little daunting, to be honest.
What I’ve decided to do is to start with a few of my favourite discs — I know them well, and I think this will be a good way to get into the swing of things. After that, I’m planning to alternate between discs I know well, and discs I haven’t listened to in some time.
I’m not sure if I’m going to allow comments on individual reviews yet — this will largely depend on the kind of traffic the site gets.
Technical Information
The site is running the latest version of the Textpattern content-management system. One of the great features of TXP is its flexibility. I’ve been able to refine the system to store specific recording information (disc numbers, labels, artists) as if it were a custom-built solution.
The design and layout is achieved through XHTML and CSS.
